World Cocktail Day: 4 different ways to toast with sake 

Did you know that Japanese sake is an ideal ingredient for cocktails that are subtle, refreshing and original? 

To mark International Cocktail Day, we’ve come up with 4 simple, seasonal and creative recipes to reinvent the aperitif with a Japanese twist. 

 

🍓 Shizuku Rouge – Fruity sparkling with Mio sake

 

Shizuku Rouge — Le pétillant fruité au saké Mio

 

This elegant cocktail combines Mio sparkling sake, naturally sweet and delicately fruity, with the freshness of red fruit and the floral character of Etsu gin. The strawberry adds a round sweetness, the raspberry a tangy liveliness: a perfect balance for a spring cocktail. 

Ingredients: 

  • 9 cl Mio Sparkling Sake (200612)
  • 3 cl Etsu Gin – Original (204257)
  • 2 fresh raspberries
  • 1 ripe strawberry
  • 1 cl sugar syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish: mint leaf, strawberry slice or edible flower


Preparation:
 

Mash the red berries with the gin in a shaker.
Add a few ice cubes, shake gently, then strain into a flute.
Top up with chilled Mio Sake and garnish as you like: mint, strawberry or edible flower. 

 

🌸 Mojito Blossom – The French mojito, sake version

Mojito Blossom — Le mojito à la française, version saké

 

Inspired by the mojito, this new cocktail features Ispahan Rose sake, infused with lychee, raspberry and rose. Lime and mint bring out the floral aromas, while sparkling water adds freshness. It’s a light, refined and resolutely summery version of the famous Cuban cocktail.  

 

Ingredients :  

  • 6 cl Ispahan Rose sake (203842)
  • 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 cl lime juice
  • 1 cl cane sugar syrup
  • Crushed ice
  • Sparkling water
  • Garnish: mint, rose petals or lemon slice

Preparation :

Crush the mint with the lemon juice and syrup.
Add the sake, fill with crushed
ice and top up with the sparkling water.
Stir gently and garnish.

 

🍷 Grenade Express – The quick cocktail

Grenade Express — Le cocktail minute 

In less than a minute, make an original and refreshing cocktail using L’Atelier du Saké sake, a floral and balanced daiginjo, simply blended with a pomegranate infusion. It’s easy to prepare, ideal for impromptu aperitifs, and can be adapted to suit your tastes (acai, grape, rooibos…). 

 

Ingredients : 

  • 50 mL L’Atelier du Saké sake (202722)
  • 150 mL Mangajo pomegranate infusion (110170)


Preparation :

Pour the infusion and sake into a glass, add ice if you like, and serve well chilled.

One bottle makes up to 10 cocktails.

 

🍋 Yuzu Breeze – Fresh and spicy in 3 minutes

 

Yuzu Breeze — Le frais-épicé en 3 minutes 

This cocktail combines the lemony freshness of yuzu, the liveliness of tonic and the subtlety of L’Atelier du Saké sake. The cucumber adds a very contemporary planty touch, while a hint of black pepper adds a delicate spice. A bold, thirst-quenching combination. 

Ingredients : 

  • 50 mL L’Atelier du Saké sake (202722)
  • 80 mL Mangajo yuzu & lemon infusion (202667)
  • 10 mL tonic
  • Cucumber slices
  • Pinch of black pepper


Preparation :

Place ice cubes in a glass with the cucumber slices.
Pour in the herbal tea,
sake and tonic.
Finish with a twist of the pepper mill and serve
immediately.

You can make up to 10 cocktails from a single bottle.
