Look back on the 2025 French Sushi Championship
On April 2, 2025, the art of sushi took center stage at the Snack Show in Paris during the French Sushi Championship. As a supplier of Japanese food products and official sponsor, we are proud to have supported this high-level competition, a true showcase of the expertise and creativity of sushimen specialized in Japanese cuisine.
A Day Full of Talent and Emotion
The day began with the introduction of the jury and the 10 contestants from across France and the overseas territories

Divided into two groups, they competed in several tests: preparatory, edomae and sashimi, creative, and signature rounds. The audience also enjoyed cultural activities such as a video screening on the history of sushi, a ”Make your own sushi” Masterclass led by Jean-Baptiste L’HER and a traditional Japanese knife engraving demonstration by Sakai Takayuki.
An Outstanding Jury
Presided over by Yuko Perez, chef and expert in Japanese cuisine, the jury included emblematic names on the culinary scene:
- Tino Singharaj, French Sushi Champion 2024
- Vincent Broggi, World Sushi Champion 2024
- Jérémi Seguda, World Vice-Champion 2024
- Wagner Spadacio, French Champion 2017;
- Chihiro Masui, renowned culinary author and journalist.
Their expert and discerning eyes evaluated the contestants fairly for their technique and creativity.
A Tour of Talent from France
Candidates from Montpellier, Paris, Strasbourg, La Rochelle, Les Landes, Chambéry, Réunion Island, and Martinique, showed incredible imagination in presenting creations that combined tradition, innovation, and respect for the ingredients. A beautiful demonstration of the rich sushi-making know-how in France.
The Grand Winner of the 2025 Edition
After an intense day marked by precision, creativity, and passion, the coveted title of French Sushi Champion 2025 was awarded to Pierre-Maël Belaïfa. At his side, Clément Krajenska shone with a remarkable performance, earning second place, closely followed by Duy Anh Le, who took third to complete this magnificent podium.
